Heather began her career in the nonprofit sector, as a program manager and later a director, focused on adult education and volunteer management at small and mid-sized organizations. It was there, sitting on Salesforce and Drupal implementation teams, that she got curious about what was actually happening within tools she depended on every day.
That curiosity turned into a career change. Heather became a software engineer, eventually landing at companies like Bitly, a tool she'd used herself back in her nonprofit days. This time seeing it from the other side.
After a decade in software engineering and technical leadership, she's brought that dual perspective back to where she started: helping nonprofits make confident, well-grounded technology decisions informed by what it actually takes to choose, build, and adopt the right tools.
